Overworking DCI detectives nab yet another consignment of narcotics at JKIA –see how they were concealed (PHOTOs)

Tuesday, April 09, 2019- DCI detectives based at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport have intercepted yet another consignment of narcotics destined for export and arrested several suspects.

On Monday, detectives seized 500 kilograms of  ‘dry khat’ packed in 52 bags that was concealed as packets of tea leaves destined for Australia and USA.

Last week, detectives intercepted heroin weighing approximately 12 kilograms at the busy airport.

The heroin which was concealed in two radio speakers and declared as traditional baskets and sandals was delivered at the airport by a clearing agent for export to Monrovia- Liberia.

Last month, detectives arrested a Nigerian national after she was found with 92 pellets of heroine concealed in plastic bottles containing milk.

This shows that JKIA has been a major conduit of narcotics in the past but the new DCI boss George Kinoti is not sleeping on the job.
