ODM Secretary General EDWIN SIFUNA in trouble for losing two by-elections at once-RAILA is breathing fire and he may sack him

Saturday April 6, 2019-ODM Secretary General, Edwin Sifuna, on Saturday, found himself on the receiving end after the party lost in two by-elections in Embakasi and Ugenya.

Both ODM candidates were trounced in the elections with Chris Karan losing the Ugenya seat to Movement for Democracy and Growth party candidate, David Ochieng.

Similarly, Irshad Sumra of ODM conceded defeat to Wiper candidate Julius Mawathe in the Embakasi South by-election.

Sifuna took to Twitter to express his disappoints in the turn of events, saying he did his best but the best candidates won.

"We had a tough day at the ballot. The entire party put in their best effort but we have come up short in both Ugenya and Embakasi South.

"I thank all those who turned out to support us. Congratulations are in order Hon. Mawathe and Wiper Movement. Godspeed," he noted.

However, a section of Kenyans online faulted the Sifuna and the party's ideals in the handling of political matters in the country.

"ODM lacks ideas and ideals to improve the welfare of the people. Their leaders are myopic and feel they are demigods. Their Governors have looted funds meant for devolution and the likes of Orengo and Sifuna are silent about all these," one user noted.

According to sources, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is equally not happy with how ODM fared in the two by-elections and is said to be mad with Sifuna. He might even fire him anytime.
