No nonsense CS, MAGOHA, makes major reshuffle in the Education Ministry and leaves some people crying-See those he has moved?

Monday April 8, 2019-Education Cabinet Secretary, George Magoha, has made major transfers in the ministry and issued a stern warning to lazy employees barely days after assuming office.

In an announcement that was made during a closed-door meeting between regional and county directors of education and the Teachers Service Commission, Magogha moved Pius Mutisya, who was the director of quality assurance and standards. He will now head the directorate of field services

He named Mary Gaturu as the acting director of quality assurance. The department has often been accused of laxity over failure to inspect schools. Until her appointment, Gaturu was serving as the director of education leading the Rift Valley region.

On the other hand, Sylvester Mulambe, who previously served as the deputy director in the ministry, becomes the director of policy. The Central Regional Director of Education in Central, Stephen Barongo, has been moved to Western region while Margaret Lesuuda moves to Central from Eastern. Patrick Khaemba, acting director of co-curricular and field service is now leading the Eastern region while John Ololotua was moved from Nairobi to Rift Valley.

Martha Odunda, who has been serving as the deputy director of education, was promoted to head Nairobi region.
