When he made his maiden tour of Kisumu and Siaya counties late last year, Uhuru promised a lot, with the region which has on most occasions found itself on the opposition side finally appearing to be catching up on development.

The projects include the ongoing Ahero interchange which is expected to gobble a sum of Sh699.5 million upon completion, it will link Kisumu to Kericho, Homa Bay and Kisii counties.

The rehabilitation of the Kisumu - Kakamega road has been allocated Sh4.5 billion. The project had stalled but has received a revival.

In Siaya County, the government has allocated Sh1.6 billion for construction of water dams in Ugunja and Sega constituencies, with another one coming up in Ukwala, Ugenya constituency.
