Like UHURU, RAILA refers KIHARU MP, NDINDI NYORO as a mad man over his bill of clipping DCI KINOTI‘s powers

Tuesday April 2, 2019-National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga has lashed at Kiharu MP, Ndindi Nyoro, over an impending bill which seeks to drastically reduce powers of Director of Public Prosecutions(DPP) and Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in the role played on investigations of economic crimes.

Nyoro, who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, has been rallying behind his colleagues to support the controversial bill which has however caused divisions among leaders in the fight against corruption.

“We have so many bodies doing the same thing — you have the police investigating, there is the DPP and then there is the DCI. At the end of the day, investigations are delayed because you are dealing with multiple agencies, all with their own bureaucratic structures. There is also the danger of the evidence leaking out and being diluted because of the multiplicity of players involved,” Nyoro told a local daily.

But speaking in Mombasa on Tuesday when he launched Huduma Namba, Raila claimed that Nyoro had gone mad, adding that the fight against corruption will not be won with the introduction of such bills to parliament.

“I have seen an MP (Nyoro) drafting a bill that wants to reduce powers of DPP and DCI in fight against corruption. Has the MP lost his senses? I think he's mad. You can't clip powers of those institutions when we are busy fighting corruption," Raila said.
