Saturday, April 20, 2019- The death of Jonathan Moi, the first born son to former President Daniel Moi has brought to the fore the gruesome murder of Julie Ward, a British tourist in the vast Masai Mara in 1988.
Jonathan was heavily linked with Julie’s murder but the case has never been resolved 31 years down the line.
The renowned rally driver was alleged to have had a hand in the murder of Miss Julie Ward who was raped then murdered.
Jonathan refuted the claims stating that "I am totally shocked to hear this…I had no relationship with the said lady (Julie) and I even didn't know her. I never did such a thing and it has never crossed my mind to do it,"
The official account of her death according to Government Pathologist Dr Jason Kaviti was that the tourist had died from animal bites.
To account for the burns on her body in case of any doubt, he said that she could also have been struck by lightning.
While the political class has been paying tribute to Jonathan and sending condolences messages to the Moi family, other Kenyans have used the moment to remember Julie Ward.

Vocal lawyer Miguna Miguna slammed Uhuru and Raila after they hailed the late Jonathan as a ‘Patriot’ claiming that he’s a murdered who should have died in jail.
