Thursday April 18, 2019-Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Communications Director, Philip Etale, has claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta is a huge admirer of the Orange party despite disowning the party on Wednesday.
He said that the President's message was very clear, and he was simply asking his team to shelve politicking and help him deliver as Raila and his ODM delegation are doing.
The Kenyan DAILY POST
Uhuru, who was speaking in Nairobi, lashed out at a section of his Jubilee party members criticising his close working relationship with opposition boss Raila Odinga.
Uhuru fired shots at Deputy President William Ruto's allies for associating him with ODM and its operations, saying that he doesn't even know what goes on in the Orange party.
But Etale now says that Uhuru was telling his party members who are excited about the 2022 elections to settle and concentrate on better issues, as is the case with the ODM group.
"By saying "I don't know about ODM", Uhuru was criticising a section of his Jubilee party members who run up and down, everywhere across the Republic, to slow down. He was simply telling them, be like ODM. Relax and wait for election time. Wacheni kimbelembele (be calm)," Etale wrote.
"President Uhuru was very clear yesterday. He sounded a warning to early campaigners and told them to focus on helping him achieve his Big 4 agenda. The message to the power hungry was; stop putting Kenya into an election mood and work for Kenyans," he wrote.
