DR OBURU ODINGA tells RAILA ODINGA to withdraw from handshake with UHURU – It is soiling your credentials as anti-corruption crusader

Sunday April 7, 2019-Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga‘s eldest brother, Dr Oburu Odinga has asked his brother to withdraw from the handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta because it is soiling his reputation.

On March 9th last year, Uhuru and Raila met at Harambee house and they agreed to work together to eliminate corruption and tribalism in the country.

However, Oburu say one year after the handshake, there are no fruits since corruption has doubled for the last one year and Raila Odinga is silent because of the handshake.

“The corruption war should be sustained and if there any signs of reluctance to continue with the war on graft when it was the cardinal principles of the handshake then i do not think he (Raila) should be comfortable staying in the arrangement,” Oburu said.

"I do not know if he has such thinking. I have not consulted him, he is the one who did the handshake and he is the only one who can consider withdrawing,” Oburu added.

On Thursday, President Uhuru Kenyatta reaffirmed his commitment to the handshake, adding that he will not turn back. At Migori on Friday, Raila also vowed to continue supporting the president.
