Monday April 29, 2019-Former Kiambu County Governor, William Kabogo has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to declare his stand over Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential bid in 2022.
Speaking at a church service in Molo, Nakuru County on Sunday, Kabogo asked to Uhuru to publicly declare his stand over William Ruto's bid to succeed him.
Kabogo’s remarks surprised many as the former governor has been known to be a big critique of the deputy president.
"There is no day I have had a conversation with the president and he mentioned to me that he does not support Ruto. However, if he wants to say, I challenge him to make the remarks whilst it is still early. For how long shall he wait?" posed Kabogo.
The flamboyant former Governor advised the DP to forget about the political debt his allies have been talking about that Uhuru's backyards need to pay for Ruto's support during the 2013 and 2017 presidential elections.
"Do not just sit down and assume the promise will give you the seat. Go out there and look for it. Kenyans are the one who will elect the person they want to lead them. The only reason that they will have to rally behind you is by ensuring they are living a decent life," he said.
