Thursday, April 18, 2019- The Directorate of Criminal Investigations and Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) have offered to help unravel the mystery surrounding two 'identical twins' from Kakamega.

The DCI has asked the parties involved to record statements in order to start a forensic probe to establish if they are blood sisters.

A tweet from the agency read. "The attention of the DCI Kenya has been drawn to the highly publicized story of the Kakamega twin puzzle,"

We believe the forensic investigation will establish if any criminal act was committed or any mitigating circumstances that may have led to the present status,"

Meanwhile, Kemri has offered to fund a DNA test to help put to bed the mystery surrounding the lookalike ladies, Sharon Mathias and Melon Lutenyo and determine if they are blood sisters.

The story surrounding the meet up of the two girls; Sharon Mathias and Melon Luteyo who from looks appear identical, has caught the attention of the public. Sharon has been living with Mevins as her fraternal twin.

Melon and her sister Mevies Imbaya are said to have been born on August 15, 1999, while Sharon is reported to have been born at the same hospital two days earlier.
