Wednesday April 24, 2019 - Political analyst Dennis Anyonka has said Deputy President William Ruto has himself to blame for the growing opposition against his 2022 Presidential ambitions.
Speaking yesterday, Anyonka argued that the DP is ripping the fruits of his confrontational mode of politicking, which he said has seen him offend many notable figures in the process.
"Ruto amekuwa akichokoza watu na sasa wanaona haangalii sehemu zote ila anajiangalia tu (Ruto has provoked a lot of people, some of whom are now of the opinion that he only thinks about himself and not the nation)," said the analyst during an interview on Radio Maisha 'Bunge La Maisha, Tuesday morning.
He noted that Ruto is not careful, COTU Boss Francis Atwoli’s prediction that he will not be on the ballot come 2022, will become true.
"Huenda Atwoli aliona Ruto hatakuwa na uwezo wa kuwania. Tukumbuke kwamba yeye halindwi kisheria dhidi ya kufikishwa mahakamani, huenda Atwoli aliona shutuma za ufisadi dhidi yake zitamfikisha kortini. (Atwoli probably predicted a situation where Ruto will not be in a position to run for the presidency and must have considered his many implications in corruption, considering that he is not constitutionally protected from prosecution)," he noted.
Ruto has been having it rough from critics lately, with his bid dismissed by among others, COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli and former Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe.
