Was collapsed Imperial Bank chairman banging Deputy Chief Justice, PHILOMENA MWILU? – DPP NOORDIN HAJI spill the beans

Thursday March 28, 2019-Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Noordin Haji, has told a Nairobi court that Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu had a special relationship with former Imperial Bank Managing Director, Abdulmalek Janmohamed.

Haji, through Queen Counsel, Khawar Qureshi said this special relationship allowed her to access loans by writing directly to Janmohamed without following laid out procedures.

According to Haji, Mwilu’s account at the bank was opened after she acquired her first loan with the bank.

The loan had no documentation and was interest-free.

“The petitioner had a direct line with the managing director. She is a very privileged individual, who would secure a loan without documentation or interest,” Qureshi told a Milimani court.

“The relationship between the petitioner and the managing director is not at arm’s length. In this case, it is the director who called the shots,"he added.

Mwilu, who was represented by lawyers , Nelson Havi and Jimmy Orengo is accused of  using her office to obtain Sh 12 million non-taxed loan from collapsed Imperial Bank of Kenya

She also took other loans worth Sh 300 million after the first loan.

This happened in 2015 when she was Court of Appeal Judge.
