ORENGO says DCI GEORGE KINOTI should summon RUTO over the Sh 21 billion phantom dams scandal – He is the mastermind behind the looting

Monday March 11, 2019 - Siaya Senator, James Orengo, has asked the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), George Kinoti, to summon Deputy President William Ruto over the construction of Kimwarer and Arror dams in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

Even before the construction of the dams begun, Sh 21 billion was stolen and according to Orengo, Ruto is among senior Jubilee Party officials who stole the money.

Orengo, who is also the Senate Minority leader, said that Ruto has information that could help the DCI and DPP recover the alleged lost funds.

Ruto, who has maintained that he is not corrupt, came under fire after he claimed that only Sh7 billion and not Sh21 billion is yet to be accounted for.

The Senator said that the conflicting statements between Ruto and Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Henry Rotich, is a clear indicator that something fishy is happening behind scenes.

“I’m giving a challenge to Ruto to go to the police and make a statement,” Orengo said.

He said without Ruto being summoned, thieves of public money will continue looting because he is their leader.
