No one is safe as DPP and DCI raid UHURU’s Central Kenya over dams’ scandal after RUTO’s Rift Valley-No one saw it coming

Wednesday March 13, 2019-The Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji, has said investigations into alleged misappropriation of funds meant for construction of dams will be extended to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s home turff of Central Kenya.

According to the DPP, it is not only Arror and Kimwarer dams that have raised concern but other projects in the country as well.

“We are not targeting any community. We are safeguarding the interest of the country,” DPP Haji said.

Haji was responding to claims by a section of politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto that investigations are only focusing on certain individuals from Rift Valley region.

The DPP was appearing before the Senate Justice and Legal Committee alongside Twalib Mbarak (Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission boss), Muthoni Kimani (Director Assets Recovery Agency) and Attorney General Paul Kihara Kariuki.
