Friday March 29, 2019 - President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again explained the purpose of the handshake with National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga, which has been causing ripples in the Jubilee Party.
Speaking in State House on Friday, Uhuru said the handshake was not aimed at hurting anyone politically contrary to claims by politicians who said that the handshake would scuttle Jubilee Party.
"There is no political intention of hurting this person or fighting that person, we must come together and deal with these challenges, it is going to hurt everyone of us," Uhuru said.
Deputy President William Ruto and his allies have been accusing Raila Odinga of using trickery to break up Jubilee Party adding that he was sowing seeds of chaos in political parties.
But Uhuru said his association with Raila Odinga is to work together in order to eliminate corruption, poverty and ignorance.
The Head of State also urged politicians not to politicize the ongoing purge against graft saying if they politicize it, corrupt cartels will continue having a field day in looting public money.
