Friday March 29, 2019 - A section of Jubilee Party MPs have castigated nominated MP, Maina Kamanda, for opposing Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential bid in 2022.
Maina together with 7 other MPs have been criss-crossing the country preaching against Ruto’s presidency in 2022.
However, addressing a Press Conference in Parliament Buildings on Thursday, Jubilee MPs led by Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu), Jayne Kihara ( Naivasha) and Alice Wahome (Kandara) said Kamanda is frustrating President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four agenda by preaching politics of hate.
“They have been slowing the development realized in their first term of office which is dangerous to the ruling party,” Wahome said.
Kihara said it is incumbent upon every member of the party to respect and uphold the vision and agenda of not only the party but also that of its leaders instead of advancing interests of erstwhile political competitors.
“In their desperation, the rebels have resorted to a despicable trend of hijacking Sunday prayer services and misusing them as platforms for name-calling and spewing abuses in the company of their ODM colleagues," she said.
On his part, Ichungwa told Maina Kamanda to openly throw his weight behind Raila Odinga instead of hiding under the guise of defending President Uhuru.
“Let them stop disguising their politics.”
“We are challenging them to come out clean and declare their support for Raila so that it is known that they are working for him,” Ichungwa said.
