I am not involved in Sh 21 billion phantom dams scandal –WAMALWA lies to Kenyans despite being grilled by DCI GEORGE KINOTI over the matter

Friday March 15, 2019-Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Eugene Wamalwa, has distanced himself from the controversial scandal Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal which is under investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

On Thursday, Wamalwa and Agriculture Cabinet Secretary, Mwangi Kiunjuri, were probed over the construction of the dams.

In the construction, Sh 21 billion was looted by senior state officers including Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries.

Addressing the press after being grilled by DCI, Wamalwa said his ministry is not a party to the scandals

"Today I recorded a statement Directorate of Criminal Investigation on Arror and Kimwarer dams probe where I clarified that they were not under my jurisdiction," Wamalwa said.

The CS urged Kenyans to fully support the ongoing investigations seeking to unravel the loss of a reported Sh21 billion in phantom payments for the construction of the two dams.

"Urged Kenyans to support the ongoing investigations and the fight against corruption by our agencies," he said.
