Sunday March 31, 2019-Former Bomet Governor, Isaac Ruto, has sent a message to National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga, over his last year’s handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
On March 9th, 2018, Uhuru and Raila met at Harambee House where they resolved to work together for the sake unity after a divisive 2017 presidential election.
However speaking in Bomet on Saturday, Ruto said Raila should continue putting the government on check by playing his opposition leader role effectively.
The former Bomet county boss said the former Prime Minister should consider injecting fresh blood to the opposition as enshrined in the constitution.
“We are of the opinion that this country should be united and Kenyans embrace each other socially and economically, the only issue is that we are used to being monitored to serve in a given office. This is why Raila should do his job,” Ruto said.
Mr Ruto also accused a section of politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto of sabotaging the fight against corruption, adding that attacks on Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Director of Public Prosecutions (DCI) are unwarranted.
He concluded by saying all Kenyans must support the ongoing fight against corruption and those leaders opposing it should be rejected by electorate in 2022.
