Shock as it emerges that JOHO is among the World's most wanted drug traffickers, he is a fugitive – See what he was begging from Interpol

Monday February 4, 2019 - Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho, has written to Interpol demanding his name to be expunged from the list of the world's most wanted drug traffickers.

In November last year, Interpol named Joho among nine most wanted drug traffickers who are wanted by the agency to shed light over drug related cases.

Joho through his lawyer, DBM Mosota, said the listing by Interpol as a fugitive has tainted his political career.

Joho demanded that Interpol confirms or refutes the authenticity of the statement so that he may know how to defend himself.

"It is, therefore, in our client's interests, the interests of of all residents of the county of Mombasa and the nation as a whole that your office informs us on the authenticity or lack of thereof of the statement," said Mosota.

He said the links have caused irreparable damage to his shinning political career.

“The circulation of statements or notices or notices without any form of verification of authenticity of such statements prejudices our clients credibility in refuting the claims publicly as well as the credibility of any subsequent communique's from Interpol. This has caused irreparable damage and will continue to do so if there is no official conformation from your office on the authenticity or lack thereof of the said statement and notice," Mosota added.

Others Kenyans who are on the list include Cherangany MP, Joshua Kutuny, another sitting Governor, an ex-Governor, one ex-MP and Akasha family members.
