Wednesday February 12, 2019 - Rogue businessman, Humphrey Kariuki, is reportedly hiding in South Africa a week after police raided his factory in Thika and discovered 312, 000 litres of ethanol and fake Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) stamps worth Sh 21 million.

The raid at Africa Spirits Limited in Thika was led by Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), George Kinoti, and Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinett.

Kinoti vowed to hunt down the elusive criminal who has been making billions of shillings by killing innocent Kenyans.

During the raid, Kariuki who is also being sought for evading tax worth Sh 3 billion is said to have escaped to Zambia using his private jet.

He left the country on Sunday and senior CID officers except Kinoti were aware of his escape.

Kariuki bought a Bombardier Challenger 350 in July last year at a cost of Sh 2.7 billion.
