MATIANG’I gives all the CSs only 90 days to complete stalled projects or else he will expose or even sack them for taking bribes from contractors

Wednesday February 6, 2019-Interior Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang’i, has given all the Cabinet Secretaries and contractors in their ministries only 90 days to complete all the stalled Government projects.

Addressing the CSs in the Cabinet meeting at Harambee House which he chaired yesterday, Matiang’i warned that failure to complete projects within 3 months, contractors will be forced name all the Government officials they bribed to get the tenders in the first place when they have no capacity to complete them.

According to sources, Dr. Matiang’i was categorical that either contractors exposed the people they paid bribes or they go to jail.

“Most contractors of multi-billion shillings projects can’t move because they were fleeced by unscrupulous Government officials,” said the source.

Matiang’i ordered all ministries to compile lists of all Government projects to be completed in three months and those to be probed.
