Here are places where AL SHABAAB militants are planning major terrorist attack in Kenya – US government issues a RED ALERT- Avoid these places

Monday February 4, 2019 - The United States Government has urged its citizens to keep off from the coastal city of Mombasa, Nairobi, Naivasha and Nanyuki, since Somali based militants, Al Shabaab, are planning a major terrorist attack.

In a circular issued by the US Embassy in Nairobi on Monday, the US said it has received intelligence that the Somali based ragtag is planning a terrorist attack in Kenya in the coming few days.

“Credible information indicates Westerners may be targeted by extremists in Nairobi, Naivasha, Nanyuki, and coastal areas of Kenya. The U.S. Embassy reminds the public of the continued need for heightened vigilance throughout Kenya, especially in public spaces such as shopping malls, hotels, and places of worship,” part of the statement stated.

The US government also urged its citizens to enroll in the Department of State’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) where they will receive up to date updates on terrorist activities in Kenya.

“We strongly recommend that U.S. citizens traveling to or residing in Nairobi enroll in the Department of State’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). STEP enrollment gives you the latest security updates, and makes it easier for the U.S. embassy or nearest U.S. consulate to contact you in an emergency. If you don’t have Internet access, enroll directly with the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate,” the statement added.
