ATWOLI says RUTO has eaten the humble pie and stopped his Tanga Tanga campaigns – It was childish and he was disrespecting UHURU

Monday February 4, 2019-Central Organisation of Trade Union (COTU) Secretary General, Francis Atwoli, has lauded Deputy President William Ruto for heeding calls of President Uhuru Kenyatta of stopping early campaigns.

Last week, Uhuru ordered all state officials to stop campaigning for 2022 presidential and concentrate on development.

Speaking to a local daily over Uhuru’s pronouncement, Atwoli said the DP was running a campaign that unsettled his boss, forcing him to eat humble pie.

“For Ruto to survive politically, he must not be seen to be campaigning for presidency when there is a sitting president. Even if it were you, you cannot accept. He must stop these childish political behaviour and play mature politics,” Atwoli said.

The COTU boss said Ruto should be contented with the position he has and support all programmes by the president, being his principal assistant.

Last week, Ruto issued a warning to unnamed individuals whom he accused of mobilising his 2022 presidential campaigns behind his back.

The DP also told politicians to leave his name out of “their shenanigans” as he is working to ensure Jubilee’s Big Four agenda succeeds.
