RUTO now comes to the defence of UHURU amid rising tension and protests against him-Warns Kikuyus leaders to respect the Presidency

Wednesday January 9, 2019-Barely hours after Bahati Member of Parliament, Kimani Ngunjiri, staged a protest in Nakuru over 'Washenzi' remarks by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto has come out to defend him over Jubilee development record.

In his tweets yesterday, Ruto said the President and him have done tremendously well in terms of development, and assured the Jubilee party members that the Government would ensure no region or community is left behind in terms of development.

This is after a section of Jubilee members accused Uhuru of sidelining some regions in terms of development; a remark that prompted the President to insult the leaders holding such views.

"After projects promised for decades became a reality under Jubilee, many Kenyans especially Jubilee members understandably are asking us for more," wrote the DP.

“This must be tempered with the reality of what we can afford.”

“No region, community or Kenyan will be left behind now or in future," he added.

The DP further cautioned Jubilee members to respect the Presidency and follow protocol while addressing Uhuru.

“Jubilee members must however use appropriate mechanism to channel matters concerning us and avoid unnecessary negative debates that only undermine the party, the party leadership and the President," cautioned Ruto.
