ORENGO tells WILLIAM RUTO to retire with UHURU in 2022 – You have served two terms like the President

Tuesday January 8, 2019- Senate Minority Leader, James Orengo, has supported calls by former Jubilee Party Vice Chairman, David Murathe, who asked Deputy President William Ruto to resign with President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

Speaking on Sunday during the burial of politician Okello Gonda in Ugunja constituency, Orengo said Ruto was automatically bound to cease from seeking the presidency in 2022 given that he has already served his two terms in office.

Orengo, who is also the Siaya Senator, asked Ruto to eat humble pie and retire with President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

“I ask Ruto not to be deceived by selfish political interest but rather retire with Uhuru in 2022,” Orengo said.

Orengo spoke as Murathe continues to threaten that he will move to the Supreme Court to seek interpretation of the constitution on whether Ruto is allowed to vie for presidency in 2022.

He maintained that Ruto has served two terms as Deputy President and he should retire with the President in 2022.
