List of top ten Counties with the highest number of people living with HIV - Nairobi at number six.

Tuesday, November 27, 2018 - The National Aids Control Council (NACC) has released new findings on HIV prevalence in Kenya.

According to the report, the number of people living with the virus in the country had dropped in the past eight years.

Nationally, the number of those affected dropped from 77,200 to 52,800 in the last eight years.

The report also indicates that new infection cases had also dropped across all ages with prevalence among adults aged between 15-49 dropping from 0.35 in 2010 to 0.19 last year.

Nairobi County is among top ten Counties worst affected with a prevalence of 6.1 percent which is higher than the National Prevalence which is 4.9 percent.

Below is the list of the top ten counties in Kenya with highest number of people living with the virus.

1. Siaya  -21%

2. Homa Bay  -20.7 %

3. Kisumu  -16.3%

4. Migori - 13.3%

5. Busia 7.7 %

6. Nairobi -6.1%

7. Kisii -4.4%

8. Trans Nzoia -4.3%

9. Murang’a-4.2%

10. Nyamira - 4.2 %.
