Here is the FULL LIST of top 12 leading Counties in HIV prevalence in Kenya and the bottom five Counties according to 2018 NACC report

Tuesday November 27, 2018 - The number of people living with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in Kenya has significantly dropped in the past eight years.

This is according to the National Aids Control Council (NACC) 2018 report which noted a significant drop in the number of people living with the virus.

The NACC report noted the HIV prevalence had declined both at the national and County level, an indication that the measures that had been put in place by the Government to prevent and control the scourge were bearing good fruits.

Statistics further showed that the new HIV infections had dropped significantly across all ages.

According to NACC, new infections reduced from 77,200 in 2010 to 52,800 in 2017 despite the country's population having grown from 41.35 million to over 49 million within the period under review.

In terms of counties, Siaya, Homa Bay and Kisumu were found to be the top three Counties with the highest HIV prevalence rate.

Here is the full list:-

1. Siaya County - 21%

2. Homa Bay County - 20.7%

3. Kisumu County - 16.3%

4. Migori County - 13.3%

5. Busia County - 7.7%

6. Nairobi County - 6.1%

7. Kisii County - 4.4%

8. Trans Nzoia County - 4.3%

9. Murang'a County - 4.2%

10. Nyamira County - 4.2%

11. Makueni County - 4.2%

12. Mombasa County - 4.1%

Three Counties recorded below zero HIV prevalence and two others less than 2% according to the NACC 2018 data.

1. Wajir County - 0.1%

2. Mandera County - 0.2%

3. Garissa County - 0.8%

4. Baringo County - 1.3%

5. Marsabit County - 1.4%
