Tuesday November 20, 2018 - National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga, will be feted next month by Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology with an honorary degree of Doctor of Sciences.

According to an announcement made by the University, Raila Odinga, who is also the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader will be honored for his “immense contribution towards public service, leadership and the expansion of the democratic space in Kenya and in the region.”

“The University Senate has therefore determined that the Right Honourable Odinga is worthy of the conferment of Honorary Degree of Doctor of Sciences (Honoris Causa),” read part of the announcement.

The University also noted that Raila, who has been appointed as the High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa, has promoted the infrastructure industry, settlement, sciences and environmental conservation.

“The university charter believes Raila ascribes to the values of the learning institution and has rendered distinguished service in the advancement of any branch of learning or service to humanity,” the announcement that was signed by Vice Chancellor, Stephen Agong, read.
