Monday November 26, 2018 - A vocal Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MP has told National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga, that he will not support the Two Third Gender Bill that will be voted in Parliament on Wednesday.
Over the last one week, Raila Odinga has been lobbying ODM MPs to support the Bill which was proposed by Leader of Majority in Parliament, Aden Duale.
Speaking on Monday, Uriri MP, Mark Nyamita, said he will vote against the bill because women are the majority of voters and therefore should be able to get many women in political positions.
“We need to encourage women to be politically aggressive without putting the burden on tax payers by ensuring they use their numbers in voting,” Nyamita said.
He also said that he is ready to pay any political price for opposing the bill that has received support from President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy, William Ruto, and Wiper Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka.
