FULL LIST of constituencies wasting taxpayers’ money with impunity - You will be shocked at some of the constituencies! Shame on MPs

Tuesday November 27, 2018 - Auditor General Edward Ouko has decried rampant wastage of public funds by Members of Parliament in their respective constituencies.

Speaking when he appeared before the National Assembly Special Funds Committee on Monday, Ouko highlighted massive wastage of public funds in the 290 constituencies that were allocated KSh 35 billion in the year 2013 and 2014.

Top in the list were Nairobi County constituencies which lost over 200 million between 2013 and 2016.

Here are some of the constituencies that have been implicated in the misuse of public funds;-

1. Embakasi North - KSh 84.1 million irregularly paid to contractors for construction of roads in Dandora.

2. Lang'ata - KSh 21.4 million irregularly paid to construction companies.

3. Garissa Township - KSh 11.8 million used on bursaries, KSh 3.9 million for clearing bushes and street lighting.

4. Kamukunji - KSh 14 million for construction of Maziwa Chicken shed that was later demolished by County Government.

5. Embakasi East - KSh 8.1 million for bursaries not received by needy student, KSh 700,000 for office rent .

6. Makadara - KSh 7 million for purchase of constituency bus that was never bought.

7. Kiminini - KSh 4.9 million allowances for committee members without accompanying prove of committee training.

8. Starehe - KSh 705, 280 for construction of one Jevanjee Gardens toilet.
