Thursday, October 18, 2018- Brother to the late Monica Kimani has moved to the High Court to oppose bail application by Citizen TV’s Jacque Maribe and her fiancé, Joseph Irungu alias Jowie, the two suspects in the cold blooded murder of his sister.

In a sworn affidavit, George Kimani pleaded to the court not to grant the two suspects bail since they pose danger to the rest of Monica Kimani’s family.

Mr. Kimani, who discovered the lifeless body of her sister in a bathtub with her throat slit on September 20, claims that her sister’s murder could have been an onslaught against his family.

“The fact that the motive of my sister’s murder is unknown poses a greater danger to the family since we are not sure whether it could have been an onslaught against our family, which began with my sister,” said Mr Kimani.

Mr. Kimani swore an affidavit on behalf of the family, indicating that even though Irungu and Maribe had a right to bail, the court should consider the rights of the family which now lives in fear given the circumstances under which her sister was murdered.

He reckons that it would be premature to release  Jacque Maribe and Jowie, as police are yet to nab another person believed to have been with Irungu the night Monica was murdered.

The once celebrated TV girls and her lover Jowie, have since pleaded not guilty to the murder charge and their bail application will be determined next week on Wednesday.
