Wednesday, October 10, 2018- Transport CS James Macharia is on the receiving end from Kenyans on social media, over the casual manner in which he reacted to the tragic road accident at Fort Ternan, along Kericho-Kisumu highway, where over 50 people perished.

The freak accident occurred when a passenger bus belonging to Western Express Sacco heading to Kisumu from Nairobi, veered off a fly over and plunged into a valley at 4 am on Wednesday.

Among the dead are 31 men, 12 women and 7 kids.

CS Macharia was among those who took to social media to send their condolences but his message was not well received.

He wrote:Very sad to lose so many lives. Our condolences to the families of those who perished ; our prayers and thoughts with the families

A section of Kenyans asked him to take responsibility and resign owing to the number of fatal accidents witnessed under his watch.
