This is why UHURU may get angry with Governor SONKO-See the millions he wants to waste just to make MCAs comfortable

Friday October 19, 2018-Nairobi Governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko, has shocked President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Nairobians after he set aside Sh 400 million to build new offices for his Ward representatives to ease the pressure for space from other County Government workers.

According to the county’s annual development plan for 2019-2020, Sonko intends to build new administration block in the parking space between Taifa Road and City Hall Way set to begin next year.

The new office block will host nominated MCAs and chairpersons of various House committees who currently lack work spaces.

City Hall further revealed that majority of the MCAs are operating from rented offices, pushing the need for the new block.

“Currently 53 wards out of 85 are accommodated in rented offices.”

“The remaining 32 offices are dilapidated and therefore in need of quick attention to save the situation,” City Hall said in a statement.

The Sonko’s administration will also spend a further Sh100 million on furniture and computers for the new offices.

This comes even as the Government has intensified efforts to eliminate wastage of public resources and Sonko’s move may just attract the wrath of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
