Tuesday October 23, 2018-Sports Cabinet Secretary, Rashid Echesa, has expressed his disappointment in Kakamega Senator, Cleophas Malala, for branding Deputy President William Ruto as corrupt yet he was the man who transformed his life.
Speaking during an interview on Nyota TV, the emotional Echesa claimed he was the one who introduced Malala to the DP when he was still the Mayakolo Ward MCA and wondered how he (Malala) quickly forgot how the Ruto changed his life.
"I didn't want to be personal, but since this discussion has popped-up, let me discuss it once and for all.”
“I am the one who took Malala to Ruto's house in Eldoret Town.”
“I then introduced him to the DP.”
“He then opened-up to Ruto and told him that he was facing a housing challenge and that he was staying in a rental abode," the CS said.
According to Echesa, Ruto gave Malala a total of sh7 million to build his house and wondered how fast the Senator had forgotten.
“I confirmed to Ruto that Malala had land.”
“Ruto then gave me sh3 million which I then handed to Malala to commence construction.”
“He then started constructing his house in Kakamega's Milimani estate.”
“At the roofing stage, Malala informed the DP and that he was cash strapped.”
“Ruto then gave me sh 2.5 million which I handed to the ungrateful senator," stated Echesa.
Ruto later called Malala in his office where he gave him sh1.5 million for house finishing.
