Friday October 19,2018-Chaos and pandemonium rocked the burial of University of Rongo student, Sharon Otieno, in Homabay County on Friday after university students caused commotion demanding justice for the slain student.
Sharon, 26, was killed last month by assassins sent by Migori Governor, Okoth Obado, who is already in custody over her death alongside his assassins.
During her burial, irate students disrupted the speech of Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma as they surrounded Ms Otieno's coffin.
They prayed for her and her buried foetus chanting, "rest in peace and in power".
Mr. Kaluma, Sharon’s family's lawyer, halted the programme for a while to allow the students to grieve.
"The journey to fight for justice over Sharon Otieno's murder has just started," said student leader, Evans Baraza.
Shouting and wailing, the more than 100 students grieved in their own words and style, eulogizing her as a "good comrade".
Baraza urged the government to ensure the killers of Sharon are brought to book.
