RUTO has killed the referendum debate by supporting it! RAILA and his team thought he will oppose it so that they bury him - Political Analyst

Tuesday October 9, 2018 - A vocal political analyst has said the decision by Deputy President William Ruto to support the referendum has killed its momentum.

Sharing his views in a local daily on Tuesday, political analyst, Dunstan Omari said Ruto set a trap for National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga, by supporting the plebiscite.

Raila Odinga has for the last few days been criss-crossing the country preaching the gospel of a referendum but according to Omari, Raila will now go back to the drawing board because Ruto has held him by his balls just by supporting referendum.

“Ruto sees this as a non-starter and the more he opposes it, the more it gains momentum.”

“Now that he has accepted it, I don’t think the momentum is going to be there,” Omari said.

“I have looked at Ruto’s politics.”

“Every time he takes a position and the opposition raises objections, he changes his tune and discussions end.”

“I think that by his supporting the referendum, Ruto has killed its momentum,” Omari added.
