RAILA ODINGA‘s referendum push will not stop RUTO from becoming president in 2022 – Jubilee politician

Tuesday October 16, 2018-A vocal Jubilee Party politician has said that the push for a referendum by National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga will not stop Deputy President William Ruto from becoming President in 2022.

According to Jubilee Party lineup once President Uhuru Kenyatta retires in 2022, Ruto will succeed him.

Sources said Raila Odinga is pushing for a referendum to sideline Ruto from succeeding Uhuru.

However, Kisii County Jubilee youth Secretary General Isaac Motari maintained that if the constitution is amended, Raila won't be favored.

"The former Prime Minister's time is up in politics. Calling for a referendum won't reduce his years so that he can be younger," Motari said.

He also said that DP Ruto will be the 5th President after President Uhuru Kenyatta completes his second and last term in 2022.

Motari said Ruto enjoys support across the country unlike Raila who has been hiding in the constitutional amendments.

"We can't change the constitution to scrap unnecessary seats only to create the Prime Minister post for Raila. Kenyans have no money to continue paying old grannies who don't want to go home,"Motari said.
