Muranga MCAs attack MIKE SONKO after he threatened to demolish MWANGI wa IRIA’s illegal building in Nairobi over Ndakaini Dam water wars

Sunday October 7, 2018 - On Thursday, Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, threatened to demolish a house belonging to Muranga County Governor, Mwangi wa Iria if he continues threatening that he will cut the supply of Ndakaini water to Nairobi.

For several weeks, Mwangi Wa Iria has been threatening to cut the water supply if Nairobi refuses to part with 25 percent of the revenue collected to Muranga residents.

But on Saturday, Muranga MCAs told Sonko off for threatening to demolish a house that belongs to Governor Mwangi wa Iria if he does not back off from his bid to impose levy on Ndakaini water.

They said it is immoral for the Governor to attempt to intimidate leaders by issuing threats.

The MCAs said they will not relent on their fight to pass a law that will compel Nairobi County to pay Ndakaini water levy.

Meanwhile, President Uhuru Kenyatta has told Mike Sonko and Wa Iria to sit together and resolve the water crisis between Murang’a and Nairobi.
