MUDAVADI says no to REFERENDUM – Let’s deal with IEBC and corruption first before we subject the tired Kenyans to another voting process

Wednesday October 3, 2018 - Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, has dismissed calls for a referendum saying Kenyans have a lot of issues to deal with before going for a plebiscite

Sharing his thoughts via social media on Tuesday, Mudavadi said Kenyans should first deal with issues surrounding the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (EACC) and corruption before going for a referendum.

"We need to get our priorities right, let us sort out the economy, let us fight corruption, let us sort out the IEBC... I support the church's request for reform through an all-inclusive dialogue," Mudavadi said.

The ANC Party boss also said leaders cannot subject Kenyans to a referendum when they are at their most vulnerable point.

"...this shall not be objective. We must first address the issues ailing the country then we can go into a referendum to amend clauses of the Constitution that need to be changed," he said.

Last weekend, NASA leader, Raila Odinga, proposed a referendum after the 14 member Building Bridges Initiative team submits its final report.
