KALONZO says NO to the referendum - Let’s agree on contentious issue before going for a plebiscite that is being pushed by NASA’s RAILA ODINGA

Sunday October 7, 2018 - Wiper Democratic Movement party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, has said Kenyans should not hurry to go for a referendum before agreeing on things that should be included in a referendum.

Speaking at an ordination ceremony of Reverend Samuel Kairu of Covenant Worship Church in Ruai on Sunday, Kalonzo said that the said the Government, religious organisations and other stakeholders should give their views through the building of bridges initiative on the governance they would desire among other issues.

“This time I am calling on all of us to make sure through the building of bridges initiative we come up with a document which will address these issues which are afflicting us, incredibly high wage bills from the County levels to the Presidency,” Kalonzo said.

He also said that he will not support a referendum to reduce some MCA seats and scrapping the Senate because devolution must be safeguarded and strengthened.

However, many Kenyans want MCAs and Senators’ posts abolished because they are useless seats
