KALONZO is a real watermelon – See what he said about referendum after meeting UHURU at State House , Nairobi

Thursday October 11, 2018-Former Vice President, Kalonzo Musyoka, appears to have changed his stand on the looming referendum hours after meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi on Tuesday.

Kalonzo and Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula were among a group of leaders who met Uhuru who is trying to unite the country after a divisive 2017 presidential election.

Speaking on Wednesday, Kalonzo, who is also the Wiper Democratic Movement party leader, said he will support the referendum as long as it doesn’t scrap the senate.

“If you have to amend the Constitution, I believe it should be about now. But if you ask me about scrapping the Senate, I will disagree. If anything, let us strengthen it; make it the upper House because that is where you have serious debate,” Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo had earlier said he will not support referendum since it will erode the gains made by the current constitution.
