Is Chief Justice DAVID MARAGA joking with Kenyans? KIDERO’s corruption case to start in May 2019! Will he not kill all the 27 prosecution witnesses?

Tuesday October 2, 2018 - Former Nairobi Governor, Dr Evans Kidero’s corruption case will start in May 2019, Anti-Corruption Magistrate, Douglas Ogoti, has said.

Making the ruling on Tuesday, Ogoti said both the defence and prosecution have received the relevant documents in the case and the case will start mid next year.

Dr Kidero and former chief officers in his administration have denied graft and abuse of office charges and are out on bond.

Others charged are former Nairobi County Secretary Lilian Ndegwa, former Chief Finance Officer Mr Jimmy Mutuku Kiamba, former Minister in Charge of Finance and Planning, Mr Gregory Mwakanongo, former Accounting Head Stephen Ogago Osiro, former Acting Chief Finance Officer, Mr Luke Mugo, and former Acting Head of Treasury, Maurice Ochieng Okere.

Others facing charges are Mr John Githua and Grace Njeri of Lodwar Wholesalers Ltd and Ngurumani Traders Ltd.

The date of the hearing of Kidero’s case has put Chief Justice David Maraga on the spot over his commitment in fighting graft.

Most Kenyans said Kidero will use the time available to bribe or kill witnesses and he may escape with the charges.

The office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has confirmed that it has 27 witnesses in the case.

Many say the case will flop because many witnesses will be eliminated by Kidero and his goons.
