Thursday, October 4, 2018 - Hellen Obado, the wife of embattled Migori Governor, Okoth Obado, has admitted that she knew her husband had an affair with the late Sharon Otieno, who was raped, tortured and killed, before her body was   dumped at Kodera Forest.

Hellen recorded a statement with detectives at DCI Headquarters along Kiambu Road and said that Obado had informed her that Sharon was pregnant with his child.

According to Obado’s wife, who has denied being one of the people who planned Sharon’s murder, she was ready to be a co-wife with the 26 year old University lady.

Apparently, Hellen told her husband that it’s better for him to marry Sharon instead of having an extra-marital affair with her.

However, Obado told his wife that he has no plan of marrying Sharon because their affair had ended although she was heavily pregnant with his unborn child.

"I asked him if he was planning to marry Sharon as a second wife.”

“I told him that I honestly preferred he married instead of having affairs.”

“He told me he had no such plans and that he had ended the relationship with the said girl," Hellen said in a statement to detectives investigating the murder of the late Sharon.

"My husband said he would only discuss the welfare of the child if proved to be his.”

“He later admitted paternity.” She added.

Hellen further added that they sat together as a family and Obado informed his children that he had impregnated Sharon.

"It was then that I asked him how he was going to bring the baby home without informing our children.”

“We agreed to sit with our children, as the talk of Sharon's pregnancy became common," she said.
