I may die in Industrial Area Remand Prison - OKOTH OBADO begs for his release saying he has a dangerous disease that has seen him admitted

Friday October 5, 2018 - Migori Governor, Okoth Obado, has filed a fresh application in court seeking to have his bail reviewed saying he has a dangerous disease and he may die in prison.

Obado is currently admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital after he reportedly fell sick while in remand at the dreaded Industrial Area Remand Prison.

In a new application filed by his lawyer, Cliff Ombeta, Obado says he suffers from a severe back problem known as a Nerve Compression with Disc lesion on the Lumber Spine which started affecting him in 2013.

To manage the condition, he says he has been under the special care of a medical doctor by the name of Prof. Ating’a.

The said condition, he says, has adversely affected his ability to stand for long hours.

"Since my condition has not been attended to for the period I have been in custody, the complication aggravated and I was taken ill on September 29.”

“I was subsequently admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital as an inpatient and my condition has not improved since then," he says.

Obado is in remand for killing University of Rongo Student, Sharon Otieno, who was his lover.

According to the prosecution, Obado used her aides to kill Sharon when she was seven months pregnant with his child.
