High Court Judge JAMES WAKIAGA warns media houses against peddling lies in JACQUE MARIBE & JOSEPH IRUNGU’s murder case

Thursday October 18, 2018-High Court Judge ,James Wakiaga, has warned media houses against peddling lies in the murder case facing Citizen TV’s presenter, Jacque Maribe and her lover, Joseph Irungu alias Jowi.

In a stern warning on Wednesday, Wakiaga cautioned the media to stop analysing evidence in the murder case against Maribe.

He said what the media is doing is trying to influence his decision.

“I believe in blind justice. When people try to influence me before I hear the case, I get upset,” the judge said.

The Judge also openly expressed his feelings towards media saying his attitude is “negative’.

"My attitude towards these people [media] is negative. I believe in freedom of information but also believe in freedom to be left to do my work in peace," he said.

At some point, Justice Wakiaga asked state counsel Catherine Mwaniki whether she is the one giving media documents in the case that have been published.

Catherine denied giving out any documents to journalists.
