Thursday October 25, 2018-Citizen TV news anchor, Jackie Maribe, and her lover, Joseph Irungu, are the prime suspects in the murder of business lady, Monica Kimani
Monica, 28, was killed at her apartment in Kilimani on the night of September 20th and Jowie and Maribe are already in custody over the gory murder.
According to state lawyer, Catherine Mwaniki, the prosecutions wants Jacque Maribe sacked as Citizen TV news anchor, saying her appearance on TV will intimidate witnesses.
Mwaniki told Justice James Wakiaga that it will be unfair if Maribe continues to appear on TV screens, especially when witnesses have to testify against her.
She urged the court to consider her profession when ruling on whether to grant her bail.
“I urge you to consider that the second accused person is a news anchor and if released on bail, the court should give alternative conditions to ensure she does not intimidate the witnesses,” she said.
Mwaniki further stated that Maribe is associated with influential people and it is likely she will interfere with and intimidate key prosecution witnesses.
The judge will make a ruling on Maribe and Jowie's bail application next week.
