Here is the meeting that made RUTO turn around and support the referendum that is being pushed by NASA’s RAILA ODINGA – He never saw this coming

Sunday October 7, 2018 - Deputy President William Ruto was persuaded by Rift Valley lawmakers on Friday to support the referendum because it will ease the tax burden facing Kenyans.

According to impeccable sources, Ruto met Rift valley lawmakers at his Karen home and they deliberated on a few things including the looming referendum initiated by NASA leader, Raila Odinga.

Cherangany MP, Joshua Kuttuny, told Ruto not to oppose the referendum because many Kenyans are supporting the plebiscite with an aim of reducing electoral seats such as Women Representatives, Senators and MCAs.

“Mr Ruto has to be careful in the way he handles this issue of referendum as it can isolate him from the rest of the people in Government and scuttle his efforts to unite the country and solidify his political base ahead of the 2022 elections,” Kuttuny  has earlier told a local daily.

After the meeting, Ruto who was speaking in Tharaka Nithi County on Saturday, said he supports the referendum as long it will reduce some seats but not to increase seats.
