Thursday October 25, 2018-President Uhuru Kenyatta has ordered Solicitor General, Ken Ogeto, to start searching for a man who will replace Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission CEO, Halakhe Waqo, whose tenure ends in December this year.
Waqo has been at the helm of EACC for six years and his poor tenure end before the year ends.
According to State House sources, Uhuru Kenyatta wants a National Intelligence Service (NIS) senior official appointed to replace Waqo.
The new CEO’s first agenda at EACC will be to clean rotten faces at the anti-graft body deeply involved in corruption and who have acquired massive wealth.
NIS is likely to allow one of its officers to apply for the slot as it happened with Director of Public Prosecutions, Nordin Haji.
Before before landing the current position, Haji was based at NIS headquarters along Thika Road.
Uhuru seems to have a liking for NIS and military officers to occupy strategic positions in his Government since they have been articulate and fearless in performing their jobs.
