Governor OKOTH OBADO rushed to hospital after severe diarrhoea – He may have contacted Cholera in Industrial Area Remand Prison

Wednesday October 3, 2018 - Migori County Governor, Okoth Obado, has been rushed at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) complaining of severe stomachache.

According to police sources, the Governor was admitted to KNH’s private wing on Wednesday after Prison boss, Isaiah Osugo, gave his officers the order.

He was complaining of diarhoea when he was taken to hospital and he was also vomiting blood.

Obado was remanded for 10 days at Industrial Area Remand Prison for killing University of Rongo student, Sharon Otieno.

He will be at the facility until October 8th

He denied murdering Sharon, a case springing from the student's abduction and subsequent murder on September 4th.

The Governor’s sickness comes at a time Interior Coordination Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiangi, dismissed claims that Obado was receiving special treatment at Industrial Area Remand Prison.

“Our officers have been executing their duties in accordance to the law.”

“There is no such discrimination in our prisons,” Matiangi said on Monday

"Being a capital offender, he is being treated as such until he proved his innocence.”

“Let's not rely on propaganda.”

“At least they can visit and ascertain our position," Matiangi added.
