Good news for UHURU as he finally gets a rare chance to replace the man who has been embarrassing Kenyans every other day

Wednesday October 17, 2018-President Uhuru Kenyatta is now
breathing easy in his spirited war against corruption after he finally got a
rare chance to bid farewell to a man who publicly disgraced him and Kenyans
over the fight against graft.
This follows the near exit from office of the Ethics
and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Chief Executive Officer, Halakhe Waqo,
whose non-renewable term expires in November, 2018.
Waqo, who took over in January 2013 as EACC’s first
CEO, exits amid general concurrence that he performed dismally with little to
show for the six years he has been in office.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has decried rampant corruption
in Kenya, saying he had given EACC all the support they require to fight graft
but nothing much has been achieved.
And now, he has an opportunity to bring on board
another trusted lieutenant to help Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP),
Noordin Haji, and Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), George Kinoti, in
fighting corruption.
Waqo’s position has already been officially advertised
even before his much anticipated exit, with Solicitor General, Ken Ogeto, who is
Uhuru’s confidant, spearheading the process in close partnership with the DCI,
DPP and the National Intelligence Service (NIS).
